Description

The Boynton Pass Road offers an excellent way for riders of all ability levels in the Sedona area to enjoy a ride through Juniper and Pinon Forest and check out a couple of ancient ruins as well. The Boynton Pass road accesses both Loy Butte Hoanki Ruin and Red Canyon Palatki Ruin after winding along the edge of the Secret Mountain Wilderness.

Riding on Boynton Pass Road is fairly easy, though the distance to and from the ruins is long. Riders should keep in mind that, tempting as it may be, access to some trails that spur from Boynton Pass Road enter the wilderness area where it is illegal to have mountain bikes; $300 fines are the norm for riding in a wilderness area.
