Description

Located in the pines atop Mingus Mountain, this campground offers the visitor a scenic vista and relatively cool summertime temperatures. On a clear day the scenic overlook, located near the camping facilities, offers a spectacular view of the Verde Valley.

Access to North Mingus Trail #105, View Point Trail #106, Coleman Trail #108, and Gaddes Trail #110

Each camp site usually accommodates one vehicle towing a camp trailer plus one additional vehicle (there is a charge for additional vehicle). Vehicles must be parked in space provided on site - not along side the road. Depending on the site, trailers between 22 feet to 40 feet in length can be accommodated.

Basic Directions
From Prescott:
Take U.S. Highway 89 north to U.S. Highway 89A. Turn right onto Highway 89A and travel this road for approximately 19 miles to the junction of Forest Road 104 at the summit. Forest Road 104 is on your right as you approach the summit. Turn right onto Forest Road 104 and travel for about 4 miles to the campground entrance. This dirt road is suitable for all types of vehicles when the road is dry.

From the Verde Ranger Station:
Take Highway 260 north for approximately 20 miles to the junction with Highway 89A. This route will take you through the communities of Bridgeport and Cottonwood. Turn left onto Highway 89A and travel for about 14 miles through the historic mining town of Jerome to the junction with Forest Road 104 just before the paved highway descends towards Prescott Valley. Turn left onto Forest Road 104 and go about 4 miles to the campground/day-use site.

Travel time: 60 minutes from Prescott or Camp Verde
