Technical climbing and difficult descents define this trail. A ride on the Pass Mountain loop is a foray into remote desert terrain and all riders should seriously consider this factor before undertaking an adventure here. Rescue can be difficult on Pass Mountain Loop and the Sonoran Desert is an unforgiving climate.
Technical sections can on the Pass Mountain Trail may be portaged by dismounting and walking around bigger drops and rock jumbles.
