Description
The Rampart Reservoir Shoreline Loop trail is a must-do ride outside Woodland Park, featuring excellent scenery and fun singletrack around a mountain reservoir.
The Rampart Reservoir Shoreline Loop trail is one long loop around the Rampart Reservoir. The trail has some longer climbing sections that give riders a good aerobic workout but is never too technical. The downhills on the Rampart Reservoir Shoreline Loop have some root bound sections and a few washouts here and there, but are in fairly good overall condition.
The panoramas along the Rampart Reservoir Shoreline Loop are amazing! Rampart Reservoir is ringed by mountains and the trail runs along its rim, at times entering pine forest groves and at others running through open meadow with a straight shot view into the waters below. Views of Pikes Peak (14, 155 feet) are quite good from Rampart Reservoir and riders will want to pause occasionally to take in the beauty of the place.
Rampart Reservoir Shoreline Loop is a popular trail system and it is suggested bikers ride clockwise to ease congestion and navigation around other riders, especially in the narrow sections!
