Description
The Thumb Butte loop trails offer fun singletrack and jeep road riding for all ability levels. Located in the vicinity of impressive Thumb Butte, an obvious landmark in the Prescott Arizona area, the Thumb Butte loops are singletrack, accessed off the Thumb Butte Jeep Road, which acts as a backcountry connector between Copper Basin Road and Gurley Street.
The Thumb Butte loop trails vary in ability from beginner to intermediate-advanced. The more difficult loops are located in the southern portion of the area, close to the spectacular Sierra Prieta Outlook which can be accessed by the Thumb Butte Jeep Road proper. The Sierra Prieta Outlook is located at an elevation of 7000’ and affords excellent views into the Copper Basin.
Please note, the trails that directly surround Thumb Butte are for hikers only and are off limits to mountain bikers.
