Description
Thumper is the best mountain bike trail in Dead Horse Ranch State Park. It is mostly packed dirt singletrack.
Dead Horse Ranch State Park is pleasantly situated along the Verde River northeast of the town of Cottonwood. In addition to biking trails, the 320 acre park has hiking trails, horseback riding, fishing and more. Park maps are available. Day use fee as of November 2002 was $5.00.
Dead Horse Ranch State Park is just outside the town of Cottonwood. Drive into town on Hwy. 89A and turn onto 10th Street near Old Town Cottonwood heading northeast. The park is just beyond the bridge near the Verde River.
