Description
The Toxic Forest area features miles of interconnected trails on private land open to the public, a perfect for downhill enthusiasts and riders looking for a challenge. This area was affected by historical mining activities at the Jumbo Mine, which leached tailings into the surrounding hillside and killed the forest around the mine. With little vegetation, views from the Toxic Forest area are grand, with up to ten-mile views of the surrounding mountains.
The Toxic Forest is located on private land. It is important to respect this riding area and follow all posted signs in order to insure the possibility of future access.

The Toxic Forest & Flume Trails are multi-use so riders may encounter hikers, trail runners, 4x4s and other users and should follow right of way protocol when meeting other groups. The Toxic Forest & Flume Trails area located in higher elevation terrain and sudden weather shifts are possible; riders should bring appropriate warm layers in anticipation of this. In addition, riders should be prepared with a stocked repair kit and a first aid kit.
